VanArnam Adventures: Porsche Alpine Odyssey August 21–28, 2026 | 8 Days, 7 Nights

Join VanArnam Adventures for an exhilarating small-group journey behind the wheel of nine iconic Porsches, collected directly from the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. This curated trip blends high-performance driving on legendary roads, breathtaking alpine passes, epic hikes in the UNESCO-listed Dolomites, and relaxing evenings in carefully selected luxury hotels—all with secure parking for our convoy. Day 1: Friday, August 21 – Stuttgart to Füssen (Departure from Museum)

Morning: Meet at the Porsche Museum at 9 AM for vehicle pickup, briefing, and time to explore the exhibits if desired. Midday: Enjoy a relaxed group lunch at 11 AM in the Boxenstopp bistro inside the Porsche Museum—casual fare with views of the iconic displays. Afternoon: Depart at noon south on the unrestricted sections of Autobahn 7—a perfect introduction to their power (~200 km). Arrive in charming Füssen for a guided visit to the fairy-tale Neuschwanstein Castle, complete with advance-timed tickets included in your trip (pre-booked to secure prime afternoon slots), followed by a leisurely exploration of the town and a welcoming group dinner. Overnight: Ludwig Suite-Hotel, Füssen (1 night) – A stylish, modern boutique gem in the heart of Füssen, offering spacious suites with contemporary elegance, exceptional comfort, and secure underground parking perfectly suited for safeguarding our prized Porsche convoy.

Day 2: Saturday, August 22 – Füssen to Obergurgl (Ötztal Alps)

Scenic morning drive west via Fernpass into the Austrian Ötztal Valley, with a refreshing mid-journey stop at the majestic Stuibenfall—Tirol's largest waterfall. Plunging 159 meters in dramatic dual cascades, this natural wonder offers misty viewing platforms, a thrilling suspension bridge, and invigorating trails (easy base paths or more adventurous ascents with ~700 steps)—a perfect leg-stretch and photo opportunity amid roaring waters and lush forests (~220 km total including the relaxed waterfall visit). Continue ascending through sweeping curves and glacier vistas to the jewel of the Ötztal Alps: Obergurgl, a sophisticated high-alpine village at 1,930 meters renowned for its pristine air, glacier-backed panoramas, and uncrowded summer serenity—often called the "Diamond of the Alps" for its sparkling snowfields even in August. Reaching 2,474 meters and celebrated by Porsche enthusiasts for its flowing bends, dramatic elevation changes, and breathtaking panoramas of glaciers, rugged peaks, and barren lunar-like terrain, this legendary pass offers pure driving bliss. From the high-alpine start near Obergurgl, the route climbs through sweeping switchbacks before a thrilling descent on the steeper South Tyrolean side—featuring tight hairpins and stunning drops—down through Moos in Passeier to St. Leonhard in Passeier. Continue northeast along the scenic Passeier Valley to Vipiteno, then south via the main road toward the heart of the Dolomites (~170 km total transfer including stops). Tolls are fully included for the group. Afternoon introduction to the iconic roads: extended loops on SS242 and SS243 around the Gardena and Campolongo passes, showcasing sweeping views and exhilarating curves (~100 km additional scenic driving). The moderate ~5-mile panoramic loop trail along the high pastures and ridgeline delivers nonstop "wow" moments—perfect for our fit group—with gentle terrain, fresh alpine air, and views of the iconic Odle/Geisler spires that beg to be captured. Day 5: Tuesday, August 25 – Ortisei to Ponte di Legno: Grand Dolomites Traverse

Morning departure for a spectacular Porsche showcase across the heart of the Dolomites—a thrilling multi-leg traverse blending tight hairpins, sweeping curves, and changing landscapes (~220 km total transfer):

  • East on SS242 (Gröden/Val Gardena to Passo Gardena): Flowing ascents with perfect-radius bends reward precise throttle control as the road climbs through fragrant pine forests toward the dramatic saddle—rewarding you with explosive views of the Sella massif emerging like cathedral spires.

  • South on SS242 (Passo Gardena to Passo Sella): A Porsche paradise of rhythmic switchbacks and high-speed sweepers hugging the pale limestone walls, where the chassis balance shines on the smooth pavement and elevation changes demand flawless gear selection.

  • South on SS48 (Passo Sella toward Canazei): Descending through the Fassa Valley with long, open straights and fast esses that let the flat-six sing, framed by ever-changing vistas of towering Dolomite faces glowing in the morning light.

Afternoon/evening free to explore this charming mountain town nestled at the foot of the Adamello peaks. Day 6: Wednesday, August 26 – Epic Passes: Gavia & Stelvio (South to North)

Early departure for the legendary Passo Gavia (SS300)—narrow, steep, and wildly scenic—followed by the incomparable Passo dello Stelvio, Europe's highest paved pass with its famous 48 hairpin turns on the ascent from Bormio. Descend the dramatic north side for photo stops and pure driving bliss (~80 km epic passes). Continue to a serene village at the foot of the north side in Stelvio National Park. Overnight: Hotel Bella Vista, Trafoi (1 night) – A welcoming luxury haven perfectly positioned in the heart of Stelvio National Park, where you can unwind with wellness facilities, savor exquisite dining, and step out to explore pristine trails, crystal-clear streams, and wildlife sightings right from the doorstep—immersing yourself in the untouched beauty of this protected alpine wonderland.

Day 7: Thursday, August 27 – Trafoi to Lindau

Morning drive north through Reschenpass and along Lake Constance to the picturesque island town of Lindau (~150 km). Afternoon to stroll the historic harbor, enjoy lakeside views, and reflect on the adventure. Overnight: Hotel Bayerischer Hof, Lindau (1 night) – An elegant luxury lakeside retreat overlooking the shimmering waters of Lake Constance, ideally located for leisurely harbor walks, boutique shopping in the charming old town, and sunset dinners with panoramic vistas—combining timeless sophistication with the serene allure of this island gem.

Day 8: Friday, August 28 – Lindau to Stuttgart (Arrival by Noon)

Easy morning drive north on A96 to Memmingen, then A7 to Stuttgart (~200 km). Arrive at the Porsche Museum by noon for drop-off and farewell.
