Slovenia Adventure General Overview

Dates: September 15–23, 2026 (8 nights)

Group: 14 people (12 guests + hosts Kent & Allison VanArnam)

Cost: $6,000/person (double occupancy; $1,000 deposit secures spot; airfare excluded)

Overview: A safe, pristine journey through Slovenia’s Alps, rivers, wine region, caves, and Adriatic coast. Includes boutique hotels (highlight: exclusive castle stay), expert guides, all meals/transport after arrival, pletna boat ride, hiking, rafting, wine/olive oil tastings, e-biking, Postojna Caves, and Predjama Castle.

Daily Itinerary

  • Tue Sep 15 – Lake Bled 4:00 pm: Arrive/check-in Hotel Park Bled. 4:30 pm: Free exploration (walk, castle, kremšnita). 7:30 pm: Dinner at Wine Bar & Restaurant Čarman.

  • Wed Sep 16 – Lake Bled to Kranjska Gora 7:00 am: Breakfast. 9:00 am: Pletna boat to Bled Island & church. 11:00 am: Drive (40 min) to Kranjska Gora. 12:00 pm: Drop bags/lunch at Hotel Kotnik (pizza). 1:30 pm: 3-mile round-trip walk to Jasna Lake (suspension bridge). 7:30 pm: Dinner at Pinoalpino.

  • Thu Sep 17 – Kranjska Gora to Bovec (Soča Valley) 7:00 am: Breakfast/check-out. 10:00 am: Drive Vršič Pass (stop Russian Chapel). 12:00 pm: Lunch at Erjavčeva Koča + short hike Sovna Glava. 3:00 pm: Check-in Hotel Soča; free time (Soča Trail, suspension bridge). 7:30 pm: Dinner at Restavracija Letni vrt.

  • Fri Sep 18 – Bovec to Goriška Brda 8:00 am: Breakfast. 9:00 am: Soča River rafting (2–3 hrs, Class II-III). 12:30 pm: Lunch at Thirsty River Brewing. 2:00 pm: Drive (1.5 hrs) to Brda. 3:00 pm: Check-in exclusive Castle Gredič (all 7 rooms). 5:30 pm: Sommelier-guided wine tasting in castle cellar. 7:30 pm: Private Michelin-rec dinner at Restaurant Gredič.

  • Sat Sep 19 – Goriška Brda 8:00 am: Breakfast. 10:30 am: Depart for winery walks. 11:00 am: Tour/tasting at Marjan Simčič. 12:30 pm: Tasting/light lunch at Movia. 6:00 pm: Transfer to Šmartno (enoteca toast). 7:30 pm: Dinner at Hiša Marica.

  • Sun Sep 20 – Goriška Brda Morning: Breakfast + half-day guided e-bike tour (vineyards, stops for snacks/wine). Stops: Bose Oil olive oil tasting; Ščurček Winery tour/tasting. Evening: Dinner at Tavarneta Estate.

  • Mon Sep 21 – Goriška Brda to Portorož 9:00 am: Depart. 10:30 am: Predjama Castle tour. 1:00 pm: Lunch + Postojna Caves tour (train/walk). 3:00 pm: Drive (1 hr) to coast. 4:00 pm: Check-in Kempinski Palace Portorož. 7:30 pm: Dinner at Bungalow Portorož.

  • Tue Sep 22 – Portorož & Piran 8:00 am: Breakfast. 10:00 am: Bike/walk (4 km) to Piran; explore town. 12:00 pm: Lunch at Pavel (seaside). Afternoon: Free (shop, pool, relax). 7:30 pm: Dinner at Restaurant Marino (marina views).

  • Wed Sep 23 – Departure Morning: Breakfast; free walk along ocean. 12:00 pm: Check-out; included transfer to Ljubljana airport/city.
