Unplugged

Unplugged: Kent VanArnam’s cinematic journey follows his epic 5,000-mile motorcycle odyssey from the lush forests of Washington State through the wild terrains of British Columbia, the rugged expanse of the Yukon, and the pristine wilderness of Alaska. Along the way, he captures breathtaking drone, GoPro, and DSLR footage showcasing diverse wildlife—black bears, grizzlies, moose, and countless other creatures—and stunning, untamed landscapes that stretch as far as the eye can see. With thoughtful and reflective narration, Kent shares intimate moments spent with locals who live authentically, embracing a lifestyle with far less reliance on modern technology. He invites viewers to ponder a compelling question: what might we discover about ourselves and the world around us by disconnecting from screens for three full weeks and fully immersing in the awe-inspiring beauty of nature, much like people did in the past? Driven by genuine curiosity and a sense of adventure, Kent filmed his remarkable journey to share this transformative experience with everyone.

Check out this slideshow of stills I snapped along the way—each one tells a story of adventure, reflection, and freedom. Can’t wait to share the full journey with you all in the full film project underway in the edit booth now!
